Picture of artist name ADAM BOGUSZ Adam Bogusz Born Melbourne 1971

· Creative activity surrounded Adam from the age of one. He would sit for hours watching his father paint, or strumming his guitar, and learnt quickly that tubes of paint were not toys!

· 1979. During a grade 3-school camp, Adam preformed a comic act that kept everyone amused indefinitely! When asked how he kept going for so long, he replied ‘well you kept laughing’!

· 1985. At Luther College, Melbourne, he won the annual Literary Award with a poem on ’Medusa’ of Greek Mythology.

· 1987-1989. He was the lead guitarist in the Townsville Grammar school group ‘Euphoria’ that performed regularly at school and external functions. They won the junior section of the ’Battle of the Sounds’ during that period.

· 1990. He played the role of ‘Hamlet’ at the Townsville Civic Theatre. One critic defined ‘star quality’ as the ability of the actor to bridge the gap between the stage and the audience, and that Adam possessed that quality. Following a period of study in Performing Arts at the James Cook University, during which time he composed and wrote the lyrics for a wide range of songs, Adam chose to blend his skills in the making of an animated movie, combining his original music and lyrics, with the graphics of his artist father. Simultaneously, he was pursuing his own expressions of ‘painterly art’ in works exhibiting an original form of expression. Links to his lyrical, musical, and theatrical skills were already evident.

· 1998. Adam began painting full time. His early works exhibited a dramatic quality by the use of rich, clear colors. He combined this with an ability to convey the range of human emotions and attitudes, with deft expressionistic strokes, akin to his skill as an actor on stage.

· 1998. November. Adam made his debut as guest artist at Gallery Art Connections, Townsville. Response to his works, with their strong clear colours, was positive and immediate.

· 1999. October. He exhibited at the Beachside Gallery, Noosa, with Diana Crooke and Prue Brinkman. Adam has established quite a following here amongst academics and overseas visitors and is often referred to as ‘the thinking buyer’s’ artist!

· 1999. Invited to exhibit in a mixed Christmas showing at the Manly Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2000. July. Invited to exhibit with his father at the Beachside Gallery, Noosa.

· 2000. August. Participated in a mixed Exhibition at the Manly Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2000. October. Exhibited with his father at the Moulton Gallery, Sydney.

· 2001. March. Exhibited in a Contemporary Art Show at the Redhill Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2001. September. Exhibited in a mixed Spring show at the Redhill Gallery, Brisbane

· 2001. September. Exhibited in a mixed show at the Manly Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2001. October. Exhibited with his father at the Crafters Gallery, Gold Coast.

· 2002. February. Exhibited with his father at The Framed Gallery, Darwin.

· 2002. April. Exhibited with a fellow artist at the Manly Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2002. Late April. Invited to exhibit for the Combined Brisbane Rotary Clubs.

· 2002. May. Invited to exhibit for The Abused Child Trust in Brisbane.

· 2002. September. Will exhibit in a mixed Spring Show at the Redhill Gallery, Brisbane.

· 2002. October. Will exhibit with his father at the Crafters Gallery, Gold Coast.

· Adam has already established a strong following for his works here and overseas.

· He has a clear vision of his future as an artist for 2003 and beyond.

· Adam has exhibited his works the past two years with Kevin Hill’s “TOP TEN” Australian Artist.
